The new Titanium Package aims to identify more than 10 different types of cancer at an early detection stage
In a step forward for public health care, the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital (TNGMSSH) located at Omandurar Estate, Chennai, commenced a low-cost advanced cancer screening program through its Advanced Master Health Check-up center.
Launching this screening program is timely, when early detection is vital in the current realities of combating increasing incidences of cancer in India.
The Titanium Package provides very high-end cancer screening at a very low cost

On July 23, TNGMSSH launched a new “Titanium Package” that will provide the early diagnosis of a number of cancers, using tumour markers. The package, launched by hospital director Dr. R. Mani, is priced at Rs. 2500 compared to the Rs. 20,000–25,000 cost for cancer screening tests at private labs.
The titanium package uses a simple blood test to identify occult cancers while they are still in their early, asymptomatic stages. It tests for all manner of tumour markers, including:
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) for prostate cancer
- CA 125 for ovarian cancer
- CA 19.9 for pancreatic cancer
- Alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP) for liver cancer
- Thyroglobulin for thyroid cancer.
Recommended Follow-Up
The initial package also includes sample tests for cervical cancer through a Pap smear and breast cancer through a mammogram. The screening package also includes an oral examination, an ENT consultation for throat/oral cancers, and a consultation with a general physician.
Personalized Future Testing
Doctors at the hospital indicated that once the screening is completed, the structure allows personalized follow-up testing. If clients require their future tumor markers to be rechecked, they can take that individual test independent of the entire package, concomitantly supported by ongoing monitoring and affordable health care.
The Center Has Screened Over 75,000 Persons Since Opening
Since its launch on June 8, 2018, the Advanced Master Health Check-up Centre has provided screening services to over 75,000 people, playing a key role in promoting preventive healthcare in the state. The Centre also offers four standard preventive health packages.
- Gold Package – Rs. 1,000
- Diamond Package – Rs. 2,000
- Platinum Package—Rs. 3,000
- Platinum Plus Package—Rs. 4,000
Each of which contains a wide range of diagnostic tests, which include all tests such as complete blood count (CBC), liver and kidney function tests, thyroid function, lipid profile, ECG, ECHO, X-ray, ultrasound, Dexa scan, treadmill test, urine analysis, eye examination, lung function, etc.
A Significant Step Towards Ambulatory Cancer Care
The Titanium cancer screening package signifies TNGMSSH’s continued commitment to ensuring that preventive healthcare is both available and affordable. By providing advanced cancer screening solutions at government subsidised pricing, the hospital is ensuring that preventive health and early diagnosis are available to anyone, not only those that can afford to pay out of pocket for private testing.
This is an important step to addressing some of India’s greatest health obstacles. Cancer continues to be the leading cause of death across the country and can be predominantly linked to more favorable outcomes when diagnosed early. Programs like the Titanium package will be integral to improving cancer death rates in India. It is initiatives such as that of the Titanium package that can bring us closer to a Tamil Nadu where all people can access timely quality health care, regardless of circumstance and class.
onclusion
The launch of the Titanium Package by the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital represents a major leap in making cancer screening more accessible and affordable for the public. By offering comprehensive, high-end diagnostics at a fraction of the cost charged by private labs, the hospital is not only democratizing access to preventive healthcare but also taking a proactive stance against one of the nation’s leading causes of mortality.
As the burden of cancer continues to rise across India, such government-led initiatives will play a critical role in early detection, timely intervention, and ultimately, saving lives. With consistent efforts and wider public participation, this model can serve as a blueprint for other states to follow, bringing India closer to a future where quality healthcare is a right—not a privilege.
